2oz Silver Bullion Coin – Year of the Goat – Australian Lunar Series III

The Perth Mint proudly presents these beautifully crafted gold bullion coins celebrating the Year of the Goat — the eighth of the twelve animals featured in the ancient Chinese lunar calendar.

According to Chinese legend, the Emperor once called upon the animals of the world to take part in a great race, with the first twelve to reach the finish earning a place in the lunar calendar.

Gentle yet determined, the Goat travelled alongside the Monkey and Rooster as they approached the finish. When they reached a wide river, the three animals worked together to make their way across. With its quiet determination, the Goat was the first of the trio to reach the opposite bank, crossing the finish line in eighth place.

People born in the Year of the Goat — including those born in 2027, 2015, 2003, 1991, 1979 and every twelfth year before — are traditionally regarded as gentle, creative and compassionate. Known for their calm nature, resilience and thoughtful character, those born under the Goat sign are often admired for their kindness and quiet strength.
